Workspace — You configured your AI workspace with a security-focused system prompt and verified it produces useful output for security tasks.

Practice — You completed your first AI-assisted security task (phishing triage) using the structured prompt methodology, evaluated the AI output against your domain expertise, and refined the prompt based on the results.

Logging — You started your prompt engineering log to capture what works and what does not as you progress through the course.

What comes next

Module 1: AI in Security Operations — The Landscape maps AI capabilities against cybersecurity functions using a structured assessment framework. You will evaluate what AI can do across investigation, detection, response, compliance, and governance — building the capability matrix that informs every subsequent module’s application of AI.

Key principles to carry forward

AI generates; you validate. Every AI output needs expert review before operational use. This is non-negotiable regardless of how good the output appears.

Deploy as you build. Each module’s assets are designed for immediate operational use. Do not defer deployment until the course is complete.

Log your experience. Your prompt engineering log becomes your most valuable reference — more useful than any generic guide because it reflects your specific environment and tools.

Refine continuously. Prompts improve with iteration. A prompt that produces 80% quality output on the first try produces 95% quality after refinement. The investment in refinement pays back across every future use of that prompt.
